I've definitely been a mix machine this year, making stuff with Liz and making stuff for my car. However, I needed a mix for me today. This is because I generally think about compromises when I'm mix making: Who's in the car with me? What's the theme? How many different ways can I get Kanye West on there while only having one track directly credited to him (Ironically, he's absent here)? The list goes on and on...
This mix, however, it's for me. It's made from songs I like, songs I'm currently loving for no other reason than: 'Cuz.
It felt good to make one of those for a change.

You are right about the whole finding songs to fit a certain situation. I make playlist every Tuesday and always have a different theme and some week's it's hard. While I do like every song I use, I'm picking them simply to fit with my theme.
A list of songs I just like....so simple.

I can relate to what you're saying. Sometimes you make mixes so much with others in mind that it can be nice to make one just for lil ol you.
And I'm glad you shared it with us. It's nice to see what kind of songs you went with in regards to a task such as this.
Now I'm gonna see your "Bulletproof Heart" teaser, go listen to my newly purchased cd and will come back when I see a Danger Days review pop up in my feed.
@Allison: Thanks for the sentiment! Glad I'm not the only one that gets burnt out on mix making sometimes. I know I don't make one every week, but I've definitely made more this year than any other. I'd love to see what you're listening to these days!
@Matt: If I'm making a mix for the car, I think I always try to strike a balance between what's listenable for everyone. I'm not putting 4 hardcore songs back-to-back, simply because that's overkill. Sometimes, however, I'm in a hardcore kinda mood, you know? I dunno. I guess I just needed a pick me up today, and I'm glad there are people like you that share that sentiment.
I'm a bit jealous though. I have to wait until my next paycheck before I pick up Danger Days. However, I can tell you that a review is coming tomorrow, all I need to do is proof it and post it. ;)
